RIEDEL, a wine glass manufacturing company headquartered in Kufstein in the Austrian Alps, began its business manufacturing crystal beads for the Venetian Jewellery and Glass market in 1756.

They challenged themselves to create a functional grape varietal specific glassware.

Research and development revealed that increasing the inner surface area of the glass had a positive impact on the perception of the bouquet and flavour of the wine. Using advanced technology, they achieved

  • A unique optical effect, which not only adds a pleasing visual aspect to the bowl of the wine glass, but also increases the inner surface area, allowing the wine to open up and to fully reveal every aroma and subtle nuance.
  • Fine seamless pull stems and large stable bases marked with the RIEDEL trademark.
  • Fine laser cut and polished rim, essential to direct the flow of wine to the correct part of the tongue.
